What is Variété Popdle?

Variété Popdle is a free music quiz in the browser, inspired by Heardle: you hear 1 s of a French classics track and guess the artist, with longer clips if you need them. Every day brings a new daily challenge, the same for everyone, plus a 30-level quest and unlimited free play.

How to play Variété Popdle

1. Press play to hear 1 s of a track.
2. Type the artist. Not sure? Unlock a longer clip (1 s, 3 s, 6 s and 12 s).
3. Points: 4 / 3 / 2 / 1 depending on how much you listened, +2 more if you type the track title straight away.
4. You start with 3 hearts and lose one per mistake.

Free play has several modes: Classic, Sudden death (one heart), Time attack (90 seconds), Reverse (find the right clip among three) and Single game. Correct answers in a row build a combo, and the best scores go on the leaderboard.

French classics

French chanson and pop from before the 2000s, from Piaf, Brel and Aznavour to Goldman, Balavoine, Mylène Farmer or Céline Dion. Here you hear a clip and name the artist.
